Automation is a product from Ivanti\u2019s <em>Powered by RES<\/em>&nbsp; line. Automation is a very powerfull tool, that has many use cases for every IT department.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>History<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"301\" height=\"186\" title=\"image\" style=\"margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; float: none; display: block; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image_thumb-1.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wisdom version 4 was the first version Automation and was launced in 2005<\/li>\n<li>RES Wisdom 2007, RES marketed this as IT Change Automation Software. It was only Modules and Projects, no Run Books yet!!! Run Book Automation came in a Service Release later on.<\/li>\n<li>RES Wisdom 2009, later on RES released the Orchestration piece alongside this.This was available as \u201cOrchestration Pack for RES Wisdom\u201d<\/li>\n<li>RES Automation Manager 2011 (included Service Orchestration)<\/li>\n<li>RES ONE Automation Manager 2015<\/li>\n<li>In 2017 RES became Ivanti<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is new in this release:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"322\" height=\"211\" title=\"image\" style=\"margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; float: none; display: block; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image_thumb-2.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><font style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><em>MSOLEDBSQL driver support for Protocol Encryption<\/em><br \/>The SQL Server Native Client (SQLNCLI) remains deprecated and it is not recommended to use it for new development work. Instead, use the new Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server (MSOLEDBSQL) which will be updated with the most recent server features. Ivanti Automation 2020.0 supports MSOLEDBSQL. MSOLEDBSQL will be the prerequisite for being able to use the Force Protocol Encryption feature.<\/font><\/li>\n<li><font style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><font style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><em>View trace content for Agents in Console<\/em><br \/>You can now enable and view a trace file directly from the Ivanti Automation console.
