It was first released under the name VMware VDM, but with the release of version 3.0.0 in 2008 it was changed to VMware. The name was&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; updated to Horizon View with the launch of version 6 in April 2014 and is now called VMware Horizon. The current version is 7.11.<\/p>\n<p>Today I am connecting my VMware Horizon 7.11 environment to my VMware vCenter Appliance.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>VMware supplies a list of permissions that needs to be configured for the account that is used for this connection. <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.vmware.com\/en\/VMware-Horizon-7\/7.6\/horizon-installation\/GUID-A878F876-B359-42FC-9124-A1E34BFB3319.html#GUID-A878F876-B359-42FC-9124-A1E34BFB3319\">Here<\/a> you can find a complete list of the required priveledges for the account for the VMware vCenter connection.<\/p>\n<p>Click Settings &gt;&nbsp; Server Add vCenter<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"247\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image_thumb-2.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Enter VMware vCenter FQDN and&nbsp; username and password, if&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; you\u2019ve changed the default SSL port you need to change that here too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"210\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image_thumb-3.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In my lab environment I am not going to use the Composer feature so I can choose \u201c<em>Do not use Horizon Composer<\/em>\u201d. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"235\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image_thumb-4.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here you can change the storage settings, since this is a lab setup I am not going to change these default setting.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"317\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image_thumb-5.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this last window you get an overview of all your choices.
