In this blogpost we will focus on adding an application to an <br \/>AppStack.<\/p>\n<p>It had been a very busy couple of weeks and I have been missing the time and peace of mind to finish this blog, but here it is.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Add an application to an AppStack<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"452\" height=\"122\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>First we need to attach the empty AppStack to our provisioning <br \/>Virtual machine. In the App Volume Manager we open the AppStack and click on Provision to start this process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"255\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-1.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>Type in part of the computername you want to use to create the <br \/>AppStack. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"278\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-2.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>You can now select the computer that has been found and click on provision.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"120\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-3.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>You are kindly asked to confirm this action.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"414\" height=\"185\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-4.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>When you logon to the selected machine you are greeted by this message (please keep your urge in check to click on Ok in this <br \/>window at this time because by clicking Ok, you will end the capturing process).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"327\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-5.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>This customer is using Ivanti Endpoint Manager for installing applications so we will use EPM for installing applications within the <br \/>AppStacks. Tick the checkbox of the application you want to install, and click on install. For this blog we will add the application 7-Zip to the AppStack.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"118\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-6.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>Once the installation is finished the status within Ivanti Endpoint Manager will change to Complete.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"465\" height=\"336\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-7.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>Let\u2019s check if the necessary files are installed on the local system. Please note that we did not need to check a different install <br \/>location.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-8.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"414\" height=\"181\" title=\"image\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-8.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>Now we can click on ok.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-9.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"411\" height=\"219\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-9.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>We are asked to confirm that we are really finished installing <br \/>applications.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-10.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"420\" height=\"183\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-10.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>We are informed that the system will now reboot to complete the provisioning process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"251\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-11.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>After the reboot we are greeted by the message that the <br \/>provisioning process was successful, and after clicking Ok we can <br \/>return to the App Volume Manager.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"347\" title=\"image\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image_thumb-12.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>In the App Volume Manager we can now confirm that the application 7-Zip is installed in the AppStack and attach the AppStack to our VDI machines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As promised hereby the part two blog in the blog series on creating an AppStack.
