Since the costomer is using NSX-T Datacenter the place to perform this rename is actions is the NSX-T Datacenter Manager console.\u00a0 The location where you can find this information is under <strong>Network&gt;Segments. <\/strong>Or via the API.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>During the migrations that followed this rename actions it became clear that there was an synchronization issue. In NSX-T we can see the correct new name for the segment:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image_thumb.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"361\" height=\"61\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When we lookup the associated Portgroups in vSphere vCenter under the Distributed Switch we see the following:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image_thumb-1.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"253\" height=\"67\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To mitigate this issue we logon to each of the three NSX-T Managers as Admin and execute the following commands:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier New;\">get service cm-inventory<br \/>\nrestart service cm-inventory<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image_thumb-2.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"547\" height=\"108\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When we return to the vSphere vCenter and check under the Distributed Switch we noticed that the names of the affected Portgroups have been updated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/robinplomp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image_thumb-3.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"294\" height=\"66\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>information<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a SDDC project the customer is requesting to rename the vLANS and vSphere vCenter Portgroups.
